PAUL POWELL
Paul Powell is the Litigation Chairperson of the Firm.
Since joining the Firm in November 2004, Paul has led the fight against careless corporations and he has tirelessly protected the rights and dignity of ordinary people hurt by the negligence of others.
"There is no confusion as to the Firm's role," Paul said. "We level the playing field against the corporations and the insurance companies. But far more is required in each case than the investment of the Firm's talents and resources. Clients trust us in a time of great loss and need. If you lose a loved one, or your life has dramatically changed because of an accident, you might need a friend just as much as you need an attorney."
Paul's history confirms these efforts to go the extra mile. In the past two years, he has orchestrated settlements and obtained trial verdicts totaling more than $20 Million. On the eve of trial in January 2005, Paul secured one of Nevada's largest personal injury settlements of the year - a $4.9 Million settlement in a case involving a motorcycle rider that was struck by a taxicab on the Vegas Strip. In early 2006, Paul settled a tractor-trailer crash for $3 Million against a negligent trucking company. Several other catastrophic injury cases are set for trial in 2006.
Paul is a law school graduate of the University of Idaho, where he was a published member of the Idaho Law Review, and a Moot Court Honors recipient.
Following law school, Paul served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Justice Myron E. Leavitt, of the Supreme Court of Nevada.
Upon entering private practice in 2001, Paul handled a variety of complex litigation cases for Nevada's largest firm, Lionel, Sawyer, and Collins.
